For the first time, The Portuguese Club will host a field trip to the Lusitano Stadium on June 14 to celebrate “Portugal Day.” The Day is usually celebrated June 10, but cecause the 10th is a Saturday, the club decided to plan the trip the following Wednesday.

This field trip is for students in the club and for students who take the Portuguese class. Tickets are $5 each. The day is going to be filled of traditional Portuguese music, food, and activities like soccer. Food will be donated Galo Rei, which is located on East Street in Ludlow.

“I am excited to enjoy the traditional food and dance as a tribute to Portuguese Day and my ancestors,” said junior Lauren Teixeira, who is particularly excited for the food, especially pasteis de nata, a traditional portuguese dessert.
