Twenty-eight LHS students got to enter the hectic atmosphere of the New York City stock market when they took part in the eighth annual JA Stock Market Competition at the MassMutual Center this past Wednesday.
There were more than 800 students in attendance from over 28 schools. “It was pretty fun and it was an extremely cool atmosphere,” said senior Kyle Puzzo, “I got to talk to a lot of people and learn a lot of things.”
Every 60 seconds represented a day and in those 60 seconds teams hustled to buy and sell stocks.
The winners this year were students from Putnam Vocational High School in Springfield, MA. “The trip was very beneficial,” said sophomore Carley Moniz, “It helped me practice investing in stocks.” Although LHS didn’t place they had a great experience at the competition.
