The room was filled with a vivid blue light illuminating the arena of TD Garden. Fans are at the edge of their seats waiting for the opening act to come on. The lights went out, and the crowd was met with two brothers who began singing. Nat and Alex Wolff took the stage, captivating the audience’s attention. Everyone enjoyed the company of these two brothers as they sang their songs. The performance was phenomenal and flowed artistically well.
At the end of their set, they asked the crowd if they were excited to see Billie Eilish. The crowd screams with excitement, answering their question pretty quickly. It was now only a matter of time before it was Eilish’s turn to enter the stage.
The anticipation to see Eilish was like no other feeling. A mixture of excitement and anticipation, with nerves creeping their way in. The fog surrounding the stage was enough to grab my attention pretty quickly. After long-awaited nerves, the lights went out, and it was time for her to take the stage. The crowd went crazy, screaming as a lit-up box started to lower onto the stage. Before I knew it, Billie Eilish was standing on top of an elevated platform, about to perform her song “Chihiro.”
Everyone started screaming the lyrics, and at one point the ground started shaking from all the jumping that was happening. I couldn’t even feel my body, but I could hear myself mimicking her lyrics out loud. I could feel the adrenaline running through my veins, and it kept me on my feet. The entire time from that point on, the smile I had did not leave my face once.
It was my first time seeing Eilish in concert, and she did not disappoint. In between songs, she was interacting with the crowd, often exiting the stage and going into the crowd below her to acknowledge them. She would move around on the stage and have different colors for each song, which was projected on the screens above her, and even below her.
She even had a moment where she got the entire area to be completely silent while harmonizing with herself for her song “When the Party’s Over.” Eilish also performed her song “What Was I Made For?” from Barbie the Album. She sang multiple different songs, specifically from her newest album “Hit Me Hard and Soft,” which inspired this tour.
Some of my favorite moments from the concert were when she was specifically playing her songs “TV,” “Wildflower,” and “The Greatest.” These songs are very emotional, so the audience was driven to hold their phones up, with the flashlight on. A lot of people relate to the songs she performed, and that led to the audience being emotional in the moment. These songs are personally my favorite, so I enjoyed them the most. I really loved how you could hear her voice, through the background music playing. Her voice echoed through the entire place, which sent chills down my spine.
Eilish expressed her love for performing in Boston at the show and often says that it has the most interactive and passionate crowd. I could tell that her fans love her, and I am proud to call myself one as well. I have personally loved her music from a young age, and have idolized her since. To finally be able to see her in concert, was like no other feeling. Her performance, and even down to her stage presence was outstanding and it was worth every second of attending. She kept fans entertained by playing videos, while she was singing her songs, and moving around a lot on stage; which I admired.
If anyone asked me who to recommend to go see in concert, I would say Billie Eilish. She put on such an amazing show, and the crowd was filled with excitement from start to finish. I will definitely be attending her shows in the future.
